Hello all,

I'm presently running CK:DV and for lack of a better description the game isn't running smoothly......

It's almost like there isn't enough power to run it, I'm getting, stutters, basically.....it's happening at all speed settings, but it's showing itself more at the faster settings....

Currently i'm running at Above Normal, and every other day in game time it basically freezes briefly and then continues on, and then it freezes at the end of every month for about 5 seconds.......

I'm running DV v2.0 on XP Pro SP2, P4 2.8ghz, 1gig DDR RAM, GeForce 7600GS, and with about 70 or so Gigs of Free HD space left........

One thing, the last time I played EU2 on this system, which has been almost a year, I was starting to have this issue.....and I've subsequently had it with all the other Paradox Games I've tried to run.......

Any help would be appreciated...

Yeah, I kinda figured the End of month thing was normal, it's the Sttuters that happen every other day or so.......

sometimes, when I turn off Army Sprites it helps a little bit, but not much....and other times it doesn't.....

Liek I said end of month I Can handle, it's the during the month thats getting me.....

The monthly break, as you call it, is the game engine running all sorts of events for all the characters and provinces in the game.

It's the price you have to pay for the detailed, and ever expanding size of all the (royal) families that are in the game.

Sure, it could be reduced to a almost unnoticable amount of real time, but I doubt you have enough room in the basement, and enough cash on your bank account to afford the super computer you would need for that. ;)

I have the same issue and the same video card. It isn't the end of the month pause that he is talking about. The game stutters, as he put it, every other day basically. The cursor will freeze for a split second, then you can go on your way only to have it do the same thing a second later. The few second pause at the end of every month is fine, but that isn't the issue here. There is basically a constant stutter.
