I've seen this several times so far and it's maddening. Here's an example:
I've gone with a seduction focus because of course I have. I'm scouring the world for geniuses. I find one that's willing to come to my court. I invite her. She accepts...and a week later she's back in her former court. I can invite her again, and this will happen AGAIN. Sometimes sending her money helps, sometimes not. Abducting (Because Satan!) and recruiting did not fix the problem. I think murdering her former liege is about the only fix for this.
Steps to reproduce the issue.
It's sporadic, but if you can...
1. Invite person to court.
2. See them accept.
3. Wait about a week and see that they're back in their old court.
4. GOTO 1.
