Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
I was playing as merchant republic on the empire level (Latin Empire). My ruler died and his infant son thus couldn't take over as doge. When he came of age, he was a Lord Mayor (Count level), patrician of the empire. I started a faction for Increase council power, but ended it through white peace. At this point, the temporary title reverted, but rather than go back to Lord Mayor (merchant republic) I had become a feudal count and the patrician house was gone.
