It seems this might only affect players on Catalina. Could you confirm that is the version you are using? If so could you also check if this also happens in windowed mode or only in fullscreen?

As I no longer can play EU4 since the last update I reinstalled CK2 today but I can't get past the main menu due to this bug. I have Catalina installed and the issue appears in fullscreen. When I tab-out, the game switches to windowed mode with an enormous size that doesn't fit my screen. I tried changing the graphics size in settings.txt but it automatically reverts back to x=2880 and y=1800.

My specs are:
MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2016, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports)
Processor: 2,9 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5
Memory: 16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3
Graphics: Intel Iris Graphics 550 1536 MB
Display: 13,3-inch (2560 x 1600)
Resolution: 1680 x 1050

EDIT: I somehow managed to duplicate the attached files but I cannot delete the duplicates, sorry for that.

Thanks mattelundell, that fix worked for me. Now I just need the UI to shrink a little. Any idea how to do that?

Sorry buddy, I don't think I can help you with that one. Everything just worked out for me after the change. Although, I just noticed that the resolution defined in settings.tex has updated as well after I did the changes described above. If I were you, I would try altering the gui_scale values in settings.tex and hope for the best... Just make sure to make a backup or make a note of what the current values are before going full hacker mode. Best of luck!

Yeah I tried to change the gui_scale values but then the UI goes a bit fuzzy.

What did work for me is changing my actual laptop screen settings (System Preferences>Displays) Changing the resolution to 'scaled, more space' "looks like 1680x1050"
