One line summary of your issue
[CK2: 3.3.0.] Pope doesn't reconize my crusade contribution

Game Version
3.3.0

What expansions do you have installed?
All of the above

Do you have mods enabled?
No

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
While getting my ass handed to me in a crusade for Egypt the Pope-man decided to add insult to injury by claiming I wasn't participating. Please see attached screenshots that proves that the pope is a dirty, dirty liar.

Steps to reproduce the issue.
I don't know how to reproduce. Something in the conditions for this event must be faulty, since I was very obviously participating, sitting at 2:nd place in crusade participation, while personally leading my own troops inside the crusade target.

In event HFP.41143, the check is made if people have been crusading properly, and then it fires event HFP.41144 (the one you are seeing). If your capital is far away the delay for HFP.41144 to fire is one year, and it does not check to see if you have started crusading in the meantime, so it's possible that when you see that event the Pope is talking about the state of things as they were one year ago.

Maybe that's what happened here?

I had similar experience. Crusade started, I went crusading, got the badge, ended crusade, won Egypt, artifacts and fame. Returned home. Couple of months later, pope calls, visibly upset, and condemns me for not participating.

Uhh, what?

Quite possible. I was busy with a local matter for the first couple of months of the crusade before I jumped on the boats and headed out. If the first event fired during that time, and my capital is in Wales, it would make sense that the message just had a serious delay, so your theory sounds highly plausible.

Ah, that's probably the cause, then.

Definitely still a bug. I imagine Paradox meant for those who come from far away to get extra time to actually start crusading, and not have to wait extra long just to find out that the Pope is disappointed...
