Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
So every time i start a game, with a custom character or without, more and more characters become possessed or lunatic at an unnaturally high rate. It gets so bad that half the rulers in the game are either possessed, lunatic or both. I've tried deleting my save files, purging all mods and even uninstalling the game, deleting all files then reinstalling yet nothing seems to stop the devil from contaminating my game. Please Help!!!

Steps to reproduce the issue.

If an unusually large number of characters are becoming possessed and/or lunatics, there's *probably* a strong satanist society at work (satanists get an ability to possess other people, which can backfire and just make them lunatics instead). The easiest way to prevent them from becoming too strong is to have your court chaplain hunt for apostates, then burn the non-kinsmen that they find and imprison in the oubliette the kinsmen that they find (although tribal kinslayer isn't that bad).

This is mainly due to norse only having two societies to choose from the start, the satanists and the warrior lodge. Inviting your children to the lodge will bolster the warrior lodges ranks, which will help because characters can only be in one society at a time.

If you really want to cut down on the possessed, you could play without monks & mystics, but it's usually pretty simple to just hunt apostates instead.

Sadly it's not due to the satanist society i don't believe because of the sheer amount. Screenshots can not do it justice, at the start of the game there are roughly 5-15 possessed characters in the world, then by the end of the first year there are hundreds upon hundreds; It gets so bad that the game has become rather unplayable...

That sounds like a mod that didn't uninstall properly. If you're really desperate, go with the nuclear option:
1. Copy your saves somewhere else on your computer.
2. Uninstall CK2
3. Delete the Crusader Kings II folder in Documents/Paradox Interactive (This is why you had to copy your saves elsewhere).
4. Go into Steam/steamapps/common/Crusader Kings II and delete everything (shouldn't be much left since you already uninstalled CK2).
5. Re-install CK2
6. Start CK2 and make sure a new game actually works.
7. Now copy your saves back to the saves location in the Documents/Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings II

It will take some time, but CK2 will work again

I actually have no mods installed currently, hence why i'm so bloody lost on how to fix this. I'm gonna try the Nuclear route. and thanks for the advice and quick reply dude!!!
