Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
"My character got invited to attend a coronation. The character who was getting crowned died before the coronation could take place. My character has ended up stuck on the coronation journey leaving me in an unending regency. This took place on an ironman save so the only solution I can see is to wait for the character to die."
Copied from another guy who had this same bug.

Paradox, please fix that bug imitatively. This bug exists since the coronation event's exists. It's also possible to happen in other events where your character is "on a journey".

Guys, write a single watchdog event which checks after 1 year if the character is still "on a journey" and remove him from this journey.

Or better, write your events for "on a journey" without bugs.

Please guys, fix this bug, it's affecting so much stuff and it's really stupid to play a character in Ironman who has a regency for 50+ years because he is "on a journey".

Fix this bug immediately. Even I could fix this bug, if I had developer rights and could change the affected event files for you.

So please, someone of your cool scripter make us a favour and fix this.

Steps to reproduce the issue.
Get invited to a coronation event, the to be coronated king/emperor dies before you arrive, get stuck "on a journey" until your character dies. Happens also to AI-Rulers.

This bug also happens when you are start your journey to a coronation and the King/Queen goes to war. The coronation is aborted and the King/Queen is not crowned. Not even battlefield crowned.

This bug is stupid. Fix it please.

Here is my bugfix. It's not ironman compatible.

For those who are on a journey forever, open your game console.

To open your game console do the following (copied from the wiki):

• ` grave accent or backtick
  • On US keyboards, located to the left of 1
  • on Linux/US international layouts , this is Alt Gr + `
• § section sign
  • On German/Nordic keyboards, this is ⇧Shift + 3
  • On Spanish keyboards, this is is Alt + 2 + 1
  • On Portuguese keyboards, this is Alt Gr + 4
  • On French keyboards, this is ⇧Shift + !
  • On Windows, Alt + NumPad 2 + NumPad 1 enters a §.
  • On OS X, ⌥Option + 6 enters a §.

Type in your console "event HF.20370" and press your RETURN/ENTER key.

You should have lose your trait with the following event opening. Close your console the same way you opened.



I'll create a bugfix soon for those people who have an ironman savegame. This bugfix will not be ironman compatible but you'll at least be able to continue your game.

I've created a mod to fix that bug. It works also for ironman saves, but it's not ironman compatible, so you won't get any achievements. But at least you can play CK2 without this bug.

As far as I know there are also other events who can produce the same bug. Please report them in the workshop comments of this mod.
