Do you have mods enabled?
I had some, not anymore.

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
Yesterday, everything worked great. I invaded a bunch of counties in Scandinavia to expend my Roman Empire. I didn't mess around with commands nor did I install any new mods.

I got to bed, then to work. When I got back home and tried to continue where I left off, I discovered that I lost some of my counties (and I cannot select them anymore) and that pretty much the entirety of Scandinavia became unplayable (I cannot select anything in it).

It's the same thing on any of my saves and even if I start a new game.

I don't know if it's important, but I think the Monarch's Journey displayed on the homescreen changed during the night. It's now King Harald IV who is located roughtly in the same zone where I've encountered my problem.

Steps to reproduce the issue.
Load any of my saves, or start a new game.

A friendly reminder that not all mods uninstall in a nice way. As in, they might corrupt your game files to an unusable state.

Try uninstalling and reinstall CK2 on your computer.

If that fails, go with the nuclear option:
1. Copy your saves somewhere else on your computer.
2. Uninstall CK2
3. Delete the Crusader Kings II folder in Documents/Paradox Interactive (This is why you had to copy your saves elsewhere).
4. Go into Steam/steamapps/common/Crusader Kings II and delete everything (shouldn't be much left since you already uninstalled CK2).
5. Re-install CK2
6. Start CK2 and make sure a new game actually works.
7. Now copy your saves back to the saves location in the Documents/Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings II

It will take some time, but CK2 will work again, and you might just be able to continue your campaign!
