Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
I'm playing a game as (currently) the king of Greece, under the Byzantine Empire. Started as the Duke of Achaia in de 769 start, switched to Helenic religion with the single province in that duchy, conquered some provinces, formed the kingdom of Greece and was expanding in (and out) of the empire right now to be able to or get my independence or become the emperor myself and reform Hellenic.

But, then, all of the sudden, on 8 januari 834: Game Over.

As you can see in the printscreens, there are enough heirs to my dynasty, also, I have multiple counties/duchies. My character also didn't die or anything. I know my liege was in 2 wars (losing both), but one of them is a war he started and the other one is a holy war for a single duchy (Edessa). So no, they shouldn't matter at all...

So why am I losing?

It's very frustrating since I'm bankrupt (for the first time in the game, because of very high cost for finding a smith) so I can't declare my independence, because that might fix it... But I need 200 gold for that... Anyway, game was very fun, for one of the first times I saw AI forming HRE and actualy staying stable (so far) strong Bulgaria, and Germanic faith reforming and it was going well for me, so a fun game which I would like to play more..

Steps to reproduce the issue.
Just play for a couple of days..

Played the game, paused at 7th of january, switched to the emperor and..

Got an event banishing you from your court position, but consequently also off your titles:

event id = 39260 initially and then
39261 (in religious_events.txt)
Code:
#Demands is coming on us about
character_event = {
    id = 39261
    desc = "EVTDESC39261"
    picture = GFX_evt_throne_room
    border = GFX_event_normal_frame_religion

    is_triggered_only = yes

    immediate = {
        random_courtier = {
            limit = {
                prisoner = no

                    religion_group = pagan_group
                }
                OR = {

IF you want to play onwards, simply resign from your court position.

THANK YOU! Will try that later on (not at home right now)

Also, maybe devs in this case can add an option not to accept and to revolt? Just a 'random' (at least that is how it felt) game over is very frustrating.

Thanks @Aardvark Bellay for saving my game! Resigning from councel worked like a charm... Fun how after hundreds of hours played you still learn new stuff! Anyway, I'm NOT joining that councel again for sure ;)

My pleasure.

Once when i let your game run, the character got imprisoned and only lost his land to his heir (the second option in the event),
but still got a game over, which as far as i know should not be a game over either, but i ain't Paradox, so who knows....

As you say, information of why one gets a game over would be better and should be in game in my opinion in any case.

Regarding options In this case i also could imagine a (paused) warning event to the heathen court member, to better quit his job before
the emperor makes his decision on the event ("It's whispered that you better leave for home.." or so).
Appears plausible and gives the player a chance.
Keeps the 'fun' alive, so to speak.

I had a similar thing happen to me on my game where I was a Hellenic king of Trebizond and Serbia in the ERE. It was a really fun and somewhat challenging run and I finally got to play as a really good character. I had enough brother heirs and at least two uncles. Since I was playing Ironman I have no way to revocer the game which I had around 15 hours played on an hoped to continue :(

This is extremely frustrating to not give player any notice before getting a game completely destroyed without even knowing why. And I suppose the player should at least get the option to fight the liege.

Also I would guess that this kind of thing shouldn't be possible if the crown laws do not allow for title revocation.
