One line summary of your issue
Reforming BYZ as a merchant republic does not change goverment form
Game Version
3.0.1.1
What expansions do you have installed?
All of the above
Do you have mods enabled?
Yes
Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
Not sure if this is a bug or a feature. I am playing as Amalfi (MR, Greek, Catholic). Local 4th crusade blows up BYZ. I convert to Hellenic and reform. Then I see the option to reform BYZ. I take the required land and press the button. My main title changes to BYZ but my government form does not, so I remain a MR. I try various things with the console and poke around in the files. Not even the set_government command works. The issue seems to be that the decision does not destroy the MR family palace. I tried pausing, converting to feudal, used destroy_settlement on the family palace and then pressed Restored BYZ. Worked like a charm. I know that this might not be how that decision is intended to be used, but it seem like a way of restoring Rome as an MR. The reason I list it as a bug is that BYZ and Rome seem to be intended to always be play as an imperial government, so you might want to rewrite the decision or disable it or MR's
Steps to reproduce the issue.
