Thank you for the report.

Please attach your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/pdx_settings.txt to this thread.
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log , exceptions.log.

Thank you for those files. system.log shows that you have the previous version (1.5.1) installed.

Please verify your game files on steam (Right click on the game -> Preferences -> Local Files) and if that doesn't help:

  1. Move any valued save games elsewhere
  2. "Uninstall" in Steam
  3. Manually delete both the Steam\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Crusader Kings III AND Documents/Paradox/CK3 folders (think you may have missed the first part here)
  4. Re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
  5. Start the game with no mods active and no launch command
In particular make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam CK3 or Documents CK3 locations, before installing again.

Thank you all for your reports. We are currently investigating the issue.

There is a possibility that since 1.6.0 release has unlocked Garments of Holy Roman Empire for everybody, the steam itself needs to be restarted to register the change of DLC ownership.

Thank you all for continuing to provide us with details around this issue. We're looking into it currently but we don't have a reproducible scenario in-house yet which makes it trickier to test for so all the detailed information is helpful for us in our investigation.

A question for people in the thread that are still experiencing the issue: Can you upload a dxdiag.txt log here so we can do some more troubleshooting?

I fixed it by restarting my computer to install some updates (Windows 11).
Interesting - could you please check your windows update history to see what updates it installed for you with the latest changes?

I see the difference that in the first computer the processor has AVX instructions, and in the second computer the processor does not have AVX instructions. Maybe we have a problem with this?

Very good find! Just had a try myself disabling AVX, and was able to replicate the issue that you all are experiencing here.
Re-enabling, restarting, AND reinstalling the game (important step) allowed me to play again.

I've forwarded this information to the developers and will update this thread if we have any more information or questions.

Thank you!

Heya y'all!

First of all, I want to say that I am sorry, but at the same time also very thankful to all of you for your patience during this time.
I am happy to say that, thanks to you all helping us narrow down the issue, we've now deployed a hotfix that should hopefully fix the issue to all involved.

It might take a little while for you to receive the update on your client, and if you are in-game I would ask that you close the game down in order receive the update.

Once again, I want to thank you all for your patience, and I hope that you now manage to enjoy Fate of Iberia and the experience we've crafted for you all! Even if that experience has been a bit delayed.

Please let me know if there are any further issues! :D
