Please explain the issue you experienced in the most condensed way possible
I started playing as a Asatru-Norse character on the 867 start date as an Ironman. After about 20 in-game years, I noticed a non-player character who has died, but his holdings aren't passed to heirs. This prevented me from declaring war or do any interaction with his former vassals. On the attached save, the character's realm color is whitish-gray, located in Scandinavia (Denmark/Sweden border) and with one random county in England (near London).
Please explain how to reproduce the issue
I'm not exactly sure how to replicate this issue; however, my settings are default with the exception of "generate family=>none" and the new "viking adventures=>apocalyptic". The said character had invaded (present day) England a few years back.
Is there anything else you think could help us identify/replicate the issue?
(Purely conjecture; I don't have source code.) My guess is that there is some async race condition that you guys introduced in the latest patch and prevented the said character from being fully killed off.
