Short summary of your issue
Randomly Getting Lovers for No Reason and Without Warning

Game Version
1.3.0

What OS are you playing on?
Windows

What platform are you using?
Steam

Do you have mods enabled?
No

Have you tried verifying your game files (Steam only)?
Yes

How much "pain" is this causing you?
5

Please explain the issue you experienced in the most condensed way possible
I have not perused any seduction plots yet I keep getting random lovers with no warning. I do not notice I have them until the event pops up that one of my lovers is pregnant with child.

Please explain how to reproduce the issue
I am unsure, as this issues has been for my characters whole life. I believe his first lover may have been from the hunting event where you can romance a woman in the wilds and bring them to court (since she had the beautiful trait/no family history/was a lowborn). When I started playing as this character, he was in his mid 20's and he had two lovers.

I have to consistently check every year if he has a new lover, and if I don't dismiss them and then breakup - they appear back as my lover within a year.

Is there anything else you think could help us identify/replicate the issue?
It possibly could be seduction is being handled as if my character is an AI still, which would explain why I do not get any events or indication I picked up a new lover. (Not experienced in coding so I do not know if that's possible)

I have attached a save game
Yes

After playing more, I believe it may have something to do with sending your child to the varangian guard. I am on a new playthrough and have not had this happen to characters I didn't send in past games I believe, but after I sent my child there for the first time on this one I am now having the same issue. He inherited my kingdom before the event of him returning home could happen, so that may play into it as well.

I've attached the save for this playthrough in case that could help further.

Thank you for looking into this! : D

Excellent detective job! Really curious that you got this issue twice already. Thanks for the additional info + save! :D

Cheers!

I'm getting this same exact bug! I keep randomly getting lovers without warning or notification. It may have something to do with the Varangian Guard because my character was sent to the guard before I started playing as him. He's the only character I've played that has this problem. I've attached my save file for reference.

I've been having the same issue, and can confirm it's also happening when I send my heir to be a Varangian. Seems like the "find lover" events that varangians npcs get keeps happening even once you're a PC.

Can confirm seems to happen with characters that return from the varangian guard prematurely. Most of my rulers were Varangian, and didnt have that problem, but my current character returned when his father died, and has been sleeping with everyone at court wihtout even noticing it ever since.

I can also confirm this issue - also my PC won't change out of the Varangian getup, even though he should've "come back" by now, after over 10 years. All the other children I sent to the Varangians "came back" and changed out of the outfit, even if I gave them land before they officially "came back" through the event.
