For what it's worth this screenshot was before the update, but he still looks like this post-patch. It resembles a caricature.

I see this all the time still too. Sure they'll open their eyes if you reload them but i swear they're squinting super hard 1/3rd the time.

TBH if all characters kept their eyes fully open all the time and never blinked I'd prefer it over this.

It's weird but i just downloaded release version of the game to check how characters looked back then. And it turned out that it was exactly the same, here is khagan Manasseh from your first screen.

I thought this issue was introduced with 1.5 patch, guess i was wrong and just never noticed it.
