Please explain the issue you experienced in the most condensed way possible
Varangian adventure against Qohor granted me the Duchy but made the enemy king my liege immediately.

Please explain how to reproduce the issue
Play 'hopscotch' and VA your way eastward toward Mongolia, eventually you will be able to VA against a feudal kingdom, and take a duchy. When you win the war, you gain the duchy and the enemy king becomes your liege automatically.

Is there anything else you think could help us identify/replicate the issue?
Save game file attached is in Ironman but has the VA at 100%.

I'm experience the same issue, however with VA against the Galicia Duchy.
I've attached my save file.
The savegame is just before winning the battle for the Duchy
