About a CK Wiki, it is quite doable, especially if there's a core team of more than you Llywelyn that can get it off the ground :)
Any takers?

& name?
CK Wiki?
Resurrect Encyclopædia CK?
Latiny Cruciatarum Vici?
Still more obnoxious Regum Cruciferorum Vici? :D

I wonder why Paradox hasn't hired someone here to write a proper manual or tip-based strategy guide. (They could choose almost anyone having above 1000 posts in this forum (all those posts aren't probably merely just questions they have asked).
Don't understand why Paradox refuses to use this accumulated expertise.)
Well writen manual would function also as an excellent advertisement device for those who don't own game yet.

(Okay, I just remembered they don't offer even demo of the game. It seems almost like Paradox want to restrict the amount of people playing CK, trying to keep it a secret society. Opus Dei, Deus Vult!)

The game was releases almost 6 years ago ! Any money Paradox now spents on it is lost. And believe me, answering questions on a forum is something different then writing a manual for a game. Believe that from a guy who has answered some questions that have been asked here.

There are also at least two beginnersguides (AAR's) and several video-tutorials of the game. All that can be found here

A) Why do you think they pay for the AAR forum bandwidth? :)

B) They are doing that with new releases. The HOI3 guide was iirc written by Ren, a long-long-term AAR writer here; and in the run-up to release they held an AAR contest to get early copies into the hands of good writers.

C) Eh, ymmv, but given the niche market the games already occupy & the gratitude I have for these guys producing them at all, I give 'em plenty of latitude in how they manage to turn a profit. I'm old & it may not mean as much any more to new players, but the dedication (& dedication) to EU2 blew me away. Still does.

D) If you would like to help get those made and make the game more user friendly, this thread is a request for some guys to help check in every so often to keep the spam down so we can create a stable, easy-to-use wiki for this game and any sequel. Obviously less interest than I was hoping for, but if it stays functioning, people could add little by little as they write AARs &c. A prominent replacement of the EncyCK here & links from the HOI and EU wikis already hosted at Rafiki's should be good enough advertisement over time to at least create something useful for the community we already have.

I'm currently making my own wiki for a project at uni, at let me tell you, it is a right pain in the arse lol. It takes more work than you would think, so I can sympathise with those involved with this undertaking.

I'm wondering what the focus of this 'new Ck wiki' would be; purely gameplay, bit of historical background, or a accumulation of everything associated with CK. Remember, if you want to future proof it, you should set up a format that can be easily adapted by a CKII game. With any luck, a simple but intuitive wiki could help to involve less hardcore gamers into the world of paradox games, especially considering that lack of proper explanation is somewhat of a given throughout paradox's historical series of games.

I'd be happy to help with a CK wiki, definitely something this game needs.
Hope this one will manage to stay alive and well, unlike the previous one(s?) we've had.
Keep up the good work Llywelyn
