Hi,

I just purchased the game on Steam but unfortunately it does not run.

A window "Just-in-time" debuger window appears with an hourglas mouse icon and the music of the game playing behind.

I am using an eeepc 1005HA with a resolution of 1024x768 (although the screen can only show 1024x600).

In addition, steam found no error when checking the game cache integrity.

Can someone help?

Thank you in advance.

Yes, like you I've sometimes forgotten to read the published requirements for a game and can't play it until I get newer hardware. Oh well, live and learn.

While it is below the published requirements I would suspect the 1024x600 display is the more serious problem. I'll see if I can get it to run on my GMA 950 system.

Have you tried running on an external monitor?

What? I'm not aware of any such promise. Can you link me to it?

The requirements are overstated, incidentally; the game runs quite acceptably (modulo some occasional slowdowns that can be fixed by alt-tabbing out and back in) on an "3000+" 2GHz Athlon 64 with a GeForce 7600GS.
Possibly so in terms of video card models, but NOT in terms of supported vertex shader and pixel shader models. Both MUST be supported by video hardware at model 3.0 or the game will simply not load up.

Yes, it definitely does need PS 3.0. I can get it to load on a GMA 950 with Swiftshader but it's a slideshow; basically unplayable.

What? I'm not aware of any such promise. Can you link me to it?

I can't locate the postings after a quick search but about 3 weeks ago when I purchased game and was troubleshooting the issue of it not running on my laptop I read through gazzillions of support threads here and found the PS 3.0 requirement; but also a link to a developer statement regarding plans to release a compatibility patch. It was actually linked to a post that you commented on IIRC.

Anyway, I just periodically stick my nose in the forums here to see if there is any news about this and thought you'd be the man to ask :)
