Having a rather frustrating issue with CK2. In an ongoing game, about 7 years in, the game is constant hanging every few game days, and it will hang for 5 to 30 seconds or more, to the point where Windows wants to force close it. It's happening constantly now, and nothing I can think of is fixing it.
The machine itself is way over spec - Ryzen 1800X, 64GB RAM, GTX 1070. Windows 10, with a fresh CK2 install that has been verified. No other games are affected. Only CK2, and that's even after an uninstall and reinstall. Without fail every few game days, the entire game hangs for many seconds. If the game is paused, it does not happen, but it happens so much now that the game is functionally dead.
Any ideas?
edit: I opened the save on a different machine, and the same problem still happens. So it's absolutely not the hardware or the install. It's the game or the save.
edit: Further information: it happens exactly on the 14th of every month.
