CK3 "Launching the game failed" XBox Game pass

-Xbox Game pass
-No mods
-A lot of pain

Since yesterday i am having a issue where i am unable to launch the game, it simply states with a red triangle:

"Launching the game failed"

To give more context, yesterday i downloaded 2 mods,
1: Bronze age mod
2: Daddy Pika's Cheat Menu

The bronze age mod never worked, so i disabled it, the cheat menu mod did work, and i was able to use it with no problems.

However, even when both are disabled/uninstalled, it does not change the launching issue.

There is not realy anymore context to add, it worked, now it does not.

I hope we can resolve this issue and if you need any more info let me know!

Can we get a fix on this? I should not be needing to turn off my AntiVirus software to run a game

We discussed about this issue on the CK3 discord tech support channel, and it seems like many people have this same error in their error.txt file.

"[12:24:36][pdx_ugc.cpp:42]: No UGC backend available for current platform."

Apparently we need to turn of anti virus programs like Avast or windows defender.

For me however, and for the guy i was talking to, this had no positive effect.

Fixed the issue,

Navigate to this folder:

C:\Users(YOURUSERNAME)\AppData\Local\Packages\ParadoxInteractive.ProjectTitus_zfnrdv2de78ny\SystemAppData

delete the folder called "wgs" then start the game, it will start some syncing process once you click on play in the launcher, STOP syncing the process and the game will run now .

This worked for me, but no Ironman save is accessable until you synch again

You can choose to use local saves with ironman, that should get past that.

Even after doing the wgs thing it wont launch for me. The launcher just closes and the game doesnt start. When I open the launcher again it tries to sync and does the same thing again.

turns out turning off my windows defender seems to work
