Any word on new features not yet revealed?

I'm not 100% up to speed on what has been revealed thusfar, but Chris talked about Baronies, ambition levels of characters, and gave some indication the game would be out late in Q1, so as to ensure it's well polished. (for the record, I have no knowledge at all beyond what the devs have posted here).

He talks a bit about ambitions, which seems to be lifted from Rome. And also Plots, which is the way they will try to get their ambitions fulfilled. So they just don't sit and wait... they will try to find a way to "help" you along to a decision that will help them ;)

Awful camera work :D ... someone likes the zoom function. But a nice little interview. King doesn't reveal too much though.

Cool. Will be checking it out this evening...

Saw the link on Facebook, the interview has really whetted my appetite. Especially like the bit about 'plots' for different characters (along with ambitions, traits). I was over the moon when the Hundred Years War was described as a rivalry between the king of England and the king of France - that's so much closer to the reality of the situation than EU3's 'monolithic England' vs 'France and some contrived vassals'.

By the way, King, were you feeling a bit agitated when the interview was recorded? ;)

Oh, he only watched his words, knowing that within a few hours people would be taking it all apart. He's right in saying that they should get the game mechanics down, then fine-tune with a progressive patching, which is what I took from how he responded to the last question.

I like how he is implying that plots and ambitions will be done. My take: Instead of your bastard son saying "Don't I deserve land, too" then you give him the worst fief in the whole kingdom, he goes on and has ten kids and you only see him at Christmas time, he will demand something more particular. "I want to be Earl of Kent." If you deny him long enough, he'll get his friends together (whether a formal faction or not we know not yet) and make some noise.

Agreed, the Byzantine (Roman) court must be filled with plots.

The Normans in 1066 were pretty good at that, too.

Robert Guiscard de Hauteville (to William of Normandy): I hope that this letter finds Your Majesty well. I have consolidated my position in Sicily. His Holiness has come over to my way of thinking. I send my son Bohemond ahead of me to Paris. We have much to discuss.
