I received an “event notice” saying I had tarnished reputation (which I do) & should give up some of my Claims to fix this.

As King of Sicily I currently have 4 Dukes, 7 vassals, 5 personal provinces: and 24 “claims” listed at the bottom of my Kings page.

Of the 24 claims13 are currently held by my counts or Dukes, while the King of Germany controls 8 and the final 3 are under Muslim control. (The King of Germany gobbled up all of N. Italy)

I could grant 4 Duke titles & the 5 count titles but those 5 are local Rich provinces around Bari (my capital) I kept for myself. Even when I grant titles I still have the claim in them which I thought was correct.

Questions:
1. I thought I wanted all the Claims I could get?
2. I previously controlled all 13 claims that I eventually granted to my guys so why do I still have claims on them when apparently I should be getting rid of claims based on the event I got?
3. How do I “un-claim” a title anyway?

I've also had events that said I lost a claim due to my poor standing or lost one due to a time-limit. The best option I had was to keep the claims anyway.

Also- I built a Palace in Taranto with a Medium Fort (which I subsequently lost due to -gold) how do I move my “Capital” to there or do I even need to?

How do I find out who is Pope/ PC currently? There's no shield in Roma.

Thanks again for any answers.

1. No idea what you mean here

2. Granting someone a title to which you have claim doesn't make you lose the claim.

3. You can only give up claims in a war or through events

The event that fired for you, doesn't mean that you can give up a specific claim or claims. If you choose the option to give up the claim, the event will remove your oldest claim and at the same time reduces your BB. If you keep the claim you will get extra BB.

When the event fires, hover your mouse over the two options it will tell you exactly what will happen when you choose one of the options.

A province doesn't need to be your capital in order to get a 'grand palace', it depends on the base-income of the province in question if you can built a palace or not.

To find out who the PC is, find the Pope and on the left side of the screen you will be able to see who is the PC. Though sometimes there is no PC.

1) Of course you want as many as you can get ;) ... just be careful about grabbing too many in a too short a time span. If you get claims through events or revolting vassals, you get free claims (no BB)

2) Because they are still rightfully yours, even though you allowed some lackey to rule it in your stead. As far as I know you do not automatically gain a claim when granting territory, so you probably got the claims when someone revolted, and you didn't give it up in the peace talks.

3) You can't ... only through peace talks or through events.

4) You can only move the capital buy making sure it is your wealthiest province of right culture and religion. So if Bari is your wealthiest, you can give that away and hope Taranto is the second wealthiest. But there is no need to move it there.

5) Save and reload ... on every reload you get an event telling you who is PC. Sadly it seems impossible to use the search function to find Archbishoprics and the Papal States.

Edit: dammit ... Veld'ed ;) .... things are back to normal.
Double edit: Hmmm seems you can search for Archbishoprics, but not the Papal State.
