Cloud Save Corrupted - Lost 65 hours of progress in an instant

How much "pain" is this causing you?
10/10. I'm hella pissed to miss out on reconquista, play until 1453, and roman restoration achievements as well as the dynasty I spent so much time building just because I trusted in the cloud save rather than saving locally. If I can't get this fixed, I'll have to change my recommendation on steam because you shouldn't offer cloud saves if they crash like this.

Please explain the issue you experienced in the most condensed way possible
I was doing a roman restoration game as Portugal on iron man with Cloud saves. The game crashed as I was finishing off the Byzantine Empire and now my game says that the save file is corrupted and from a prior version. I cannot load or play it. Any idea how to fix this? I'd really, really, really hate to see a 60 hour game go down the drain for nothing

Please explain how to reproduce the issue
I am not sure how to reproduce the crash. It was during an autosave I believe, 2nd of the month. But I can't reproduce it because I can't load the save

Is there anything else you think could help us identify/replicate the issue?
No idea. My internet is very fast and stable, so there's no reason for something like this to happen.

I also tried going back to the prior version of the game and that didn't fix it.

I tried attaching cloud save file so you could see the name
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\80144485\1158310\remote\save games but the website says it's "empty"

I think it's lywigildiana_1066_09_15.ck3

I had a quick Ireland Campaign I started last night to see if the game would still work or if it was just that save, so I can't do that. Will there be a fix for this that you at Paradox are working on? Or will a future patch that fixes this issue not fix the save game?

it would nice to know if they are working on any fixes at this point. i havent been able to play the game at all. if i say anything too negative, the mod will delete my comment so i gotta behave now lol. theyre on to me complaining about the crashes and lack of empathy on their part.

Absolutely there will be a fix for this! I would expect in the next patch.

Great to hear. My specific question though is will it likely fix this current broken savegame? Or will it only likely fix cloud saves going forward?

My understanding is these save files are corrupted, not just bugged. As such they will not be recoverable I'm sorry to say.
