A friend and I were having a great time playing a co-op game as Italy, when we noticed that he was showing something like 100 for the stockpile of oil and I was showing closer to 6000. The same thing applied to the energy levels (though the numbers were different). As I was the host, I saved the game and we reloaded. It was then showing the same numbers, so I guess it was some lag problem and/or something to do with the fact that both of us were entering trade agreements, etc. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

This seems to be well known problem of Paradox games - host/client updates. Sometimes, only host see relevant and real numbers. Clients *see* them wrong or just unupdated. It was present with experience of leaders in HoI (1) or recruitable armies in CK. This is annoying every time. We shall press Johan to put it in order. :D

Desynch in MP games has been with us always, this is the single most irritating and major issue in P-dox MP games. In HOI 1, it has serious consequences for instance dissent going out of sync, leading to IC out of sync, research out of sync, production out of sync, stockpiles out of sync - forcing repeated reloads. Looks like its still there in HOI2 :( Would Paradox please give some priority to fixing this issue?

Same thing happened again today with a different guy when we were playing as Nationalist China together. We saved the game on both sides (he and I) at the same time, if this might help solve the problem.

When we reloaded the game with my save, we realized the bug had been caused by a trade deal that he had canceled on his side, but did not get canceled on mine. I wonder if this is always the case, because it is likely that is what caused the problem when I was playing the other game as Italy.

Who do I need to tell about this bug?

The same thing happened in a game me and my friend played, and the reason was the same - a cancelled trade-deal, that only got cancelled on client side. Next time we loaded up it was okay though...

I've never played serious HoI(1) MP on speeds faster than 'below normal', more often we played on 'slow' or 'very slow'. And we had only minor problems with host/client updates (like that XP thingy)

Also watch the "LAG IN MP" Thread !!!

Seems to be the same problem

Well this might be a very specific problem dealing with trade cancelations ALWAYS going out of sync. In my experience in hoi1 if you cranked it up and then paused and waited about 5 minutes everything fixes itself, unfortunetly it seems HOI2 doesn't have that glitch saver. Sometimes it got bad enough that you couldn't see each other typing for 5-10 mins after the typing.
Stick to a slow dragging game, just talk alot in game, play some music in the background (good music not the games music) throw sharpened pencil at the ceiling... or trust the host to stop, save, rehost before things go too wrong.
I played Civ3 alot too so I'm used long boring periods being worth alll the fnu in the end... it's part of the game. never a dull moment in hoi2 on mega slow to me

This really needs to be a high priority fix, imho. It's been going on for several years.

Nothing used to piss me off more in EU2 then to accidently take loans because my ducat display was out-of-sync with the host.

Playing co-op HOI2 last night, I had to listen to my partner yell at me to watch our oil levels several times when we actually had a large stockpile. :(

I know this thread is(was) dead, but I wanted to add my own body to those asking for a fix of some sort. My Ally (As germany, I was hosting) Was convinced our Economy was high and dry. Meanwhile on my screen it was kind of going to.... bad places. Especially after the war.

Also, We suffered a Technical Loss, in which we researched our Improved Light Tanks, and it showed as researched on his screen. Yet he couldn't get Advanced to start. I had to re-start Improved on my screen, then we had to wait. It went faster than usually, but it was still slightly annoying.
