Colonial Vassals creating Vassals for Overlord

Description​

Playing Portugal, I colonized and conquered part of Mexico. After awhile, I noticed I was gaining new Tributaries and Vassals in the Mexico region. Ones I did not ask for. Was not part of a war for. My colonial Subject apparently Vassalized them, but they count towards my relations.

Steps to reproduce​

Play as Portugal, colonize Mexico. Make sure your colonial power is strong enough to compete in the region, and wait for them to conquer others in the area.

Hello there! Thank you for the report. Could you provide more information and if possible a savefile?

He is likely describing a very, very old issue.
If a CN fully annexes a native nation with subjects, those subjects are transfered to the CN's Overlord.
The Overlord gets no notification for that.
It is most noticable in Mexico because of the tendency to vassalize enemies for Nahuatl nations.
And the "recent" rework, which increased the numer of nations in the area, made it even more apparent.

This has been the case for atleast the last 6 years, probably longer.
