Playing as ITA in V1.06

using a nice Commando leader to lead my mountain troops, I have gotten him up to a skill level of 3. So they go into combat, and i read the tooltips with the follwoing bonuses:

Leader: +15%
T-Commando: +10%
T-Commando:-5%

So, the net bonus for the commando is only 5%. Thus, why would you want to use one instead of Offensive [or Defensive] where the bonus is 10%. I think the intent was 10% also, but the 5% negative hit is being applied to all units. In that case, the Commnado bonus to the troops should be increased to 15% to net out at 10% and make this commnader of value.

Wait, do non elite troops get HURT by the commando leader?

elite? i believe you are referring to CORE. Anyway, yeah, Commando leaders HURT all non-special troops.

Commando leaders are supposed to benefit: PAR, MAR, and MTN AFAIK. There is a benefit, but there is still the negative showing as well. Thus i am suspicious of an undocumented feature that Johan may wish to change. ;)

I think that the -5% make some sense. A commander used to 'special' troops could have some problems with ordinary troops. Diffrent standards perhaps?
I allways collect the leaders with the Commando trait and try to use them for 'special' troops/situations only.

Absolutely. Commando leaders would be too fanatic for ordinary troops,a nd a 5% penalty makes sense to me. Just that also applying the 5% penalty to elite troops does not make sense.
