recently i have been playing MP and have gone the commie USA route....some are suprised...some dont like very much..to me its still uclear if there is an advantage to going commie as discent is around 60 after event fires...it does make it a bit less boreing as USA has to DOW someone to keep their economy above water and you are in a war as early as march 1936,,,,just curious as to what the MP community thinks about this plan?...... thanks, Geofactor

I have never been in a long game with a commie US, but my guess is the US will need a lot of time to clear the dissent, and build up some Tech and Army, so the nett result will be that it takes about the same, or even longer time to be ready to attack Germany. As I said, I never witnessed a Commy US, so it might work wonders. Being Allied with Russia should be advantagous, since under most rules in MP, you would be allowed to deploy US troops there.

Exploit

Thats considered an exploit.. the HOI game is not made to handle that kind of weird situation.... 60 percent disssent can be cleared away in less than a year so obviously having a USA at full prod circa mid 1937 and able to dow Germany clearly messes up the game...

i agree with tomar dissend will be celared in year and then all WAR economy will be send in production and reserch thats too much this is exploit:)
edit and with USA forces in russia.... germany simply cant win in russia that way..

commie FDR

i think you guys are just scared of the big bad USA.......how many of you have played enuff of a commie USA game to make such judgements...prob none of you.....the jury is still out on this new ploy and untill its played out no one can posiibly say for sure....untill then, all i am hearing here is just pure speculation...it may be a disadvantage, but who really knows.........

The point of this event is probably to simulate some kind of consequences in case you badly mismanage the USA, so triggering it on purpose is a little cheesy.

I hate to break it to you, chap, but it is not a "new ploy." It is a very old ploy, one that has been around at least since version 1.02, when it was already old, ruining games, and totally cheesy. It's been played out, and it is, in fact, played out.

You want to prove something? Be Germany against good players and play the game straight-up, without cheesy exploits, and win.

cheesy

well then, just call me geocheese from now on....btw, they dont like it when i play germany around here because i will start a cheesy war way too soon and the last time i did the players all quit on me....just too cheesy i guess.....just as they didnt like being annexed by poland.....so from now on i will bring a big piece of cheese to Vnet just in case im not in a "historical" mood and play to my own best interests and the players start to whine....ill have plenty of cheese to go with it..... P.S. herr general is that a personal challenge.....i will be germany any time you think you are ready dude....i can taste the tea and crumpetts already.......WU HAHAHAHAHAHAHA....ill be waiting

Keep making supplies but no consumer let dissent get to 66 now pause game set consumer to correct level change armaments minister to +15 IC minister now dissent will stop rising now all you do is wait until around december in the mean time election will pop up dont press anything on election wait until revolution once revolution appears choose commie you now are 26 dissent now press election and you are now at 21 dissent

Simple

well...the way i turned commie was to let dissent get to 80 percent...which will happen before march is out......commie event will fire any time after that....could take a day or a few months......depends on luck i guess...P.S. message to "her" general..."thats mighty bold talk for a one eyed fat man"

I like how all these noobs start appearing when hoi 2 is comming out very soon. They raise all these "new strats" or " new ideas" that are in fact 2 years old, two years to late buddy.

I suggest when you start a MP game with a group of people that are going to spend many hours playing, you set out a few rules. 1 might be to allow commie USA ifn ot then dont wast other peoples time who are looking for a fair and fun game where everyone plays with he best of intention and it simply comes down to skill, not software mainpulation of holes in the game design. You will find nearly everyone will be against this as it is very easy to win using that strat. Its no big "new super strat" it is hold news, and a very poor strat from some one who does not know the game very well.

If you want to use commie USA then go right ahead but do it in single player, or with a group of like minded people who will allow it. Otherwise dont waste peoples time.

Either way 80 percent is too much geo....Stick to 66 i said that way once it drops 40 from revolution then 5 or so from election you have a good amount of IC and it wont take take long to get dissent down after you dow somebody like mexico or hati....

Well you asked for opinions and you got them....

But why bother with complicated exploits when there are much simpler ones... Just have the soviet player dow the US on Jan 1 , 1936 and then you have full prod immediately.. Or agree with Japan so that they demand Guam (+ 50 US WE) and join allies... Or have the soviet dow the germans immediately.. Hitler will never get Austria or czech.. Or have UK coup germany to democratic..see if Hitler can win the war then

So many great strategies

Although i agree with Tomar, i have to say that it was an outstanding move :D , this event is weird and everyone that play this game knows that there is no way to get 80% dissent playing as any country except two situations - players intended or unitended(like fall asleep) moves to get this dissent.
