I recently attempted to play a game or two with my friend, and every time I do, about 5 or 6 days into the GC, my entire computer shuts down. Is this my computer, or Vic? This has never happened with any other game, so I am assuming it is Vic.

I feel your pain on the MP issue.
Honestly, if your comp is shutting down it's not usually a game's fault, well not 100 percent. Comps usually only shut down mid game if they overheat or some hunk of hardware is very unhappy. You may be having hardware issues unrelated to the game, oh and is the comp powering down or soft reseting?

Hey, sorry my reply came so late. I really hope that it is not hardware related, but I still don't understand why it would be Jan. 5th, 1836 every single time. It seems weird to me. Anyway, I am probably going to reformat my computer since I have been having a lot of issues with it lately, especially after installing Victoria (no idea why).
Comp is powering down and yes I just applied the MP fix, I will see if it is any different.
Ok, I completely reformatted my comp, reinstalled windows, and then set up my comp with the minimal amount of programs. The first game I had forgot to install the mp fix, so it did crash on Jan 5th. I then installed the MP fix, and tried a few games with a friend to see what happens. I didn't crash on Jan 5th anymore, but the severe lag was still there. I have a cable connection, and all other games work fine. My host has dsl, but this couldn't affect game speed, could it? I couldn't see what he was typing, armies would not move, and I noticed that when countries get events, there is SEVERE lag. This is especially true on the second day of the GC, when Spain gets 2 events, and the game hangs for a while. I can't expand RGOs, make factories etc. because it wasn't responding. So I am assuming that it is Victoria causing the problems, but I still have no idea what caused the computer shut down.
Speed will depend on the route the connection takes.
