I noticed a small problem with the concept art. I dont know if it will be fixed, so I thought I better point it out. On the USS Essex concept art, the number of the ship is 88. To this date there has been no cv-88, so the number should be cv-9, the number of the Essex.

It is my personal opinion that there should be 2 or more separate 3d models for wwII era carriers and modern supercarriers, because of the radical changes in size and layout.

From the existing SR2020 models, we already have a modern short deck (like the British Invincible) and a modern long deck (Nimitz/De Gaul). We've added a "Carrier - Straight Deck (Long)" and a "Carrier, Escort (CVE) (Short)". The first covers Essex style carriers, the second things like Commencement Bay or the Saipan CVL.

What other types of carriers do you think we're missing? Note: our focus is on function, not form. It's important for a player to recognize the difference between long and short because of the radical difference in the aircraft they can carry. What other capabilities do you feel should be reflected through a different picture?

I think the 3d models for the Kiev and Kuznetsov class ships should be different, because they are two very different ships. I also think there should not be a generic "Russian warship" model, but if there is there should be a different model for the Kirov, because it has a very distinct appearance.

Let's set aside the Kirov for now, I'd have to look up all our Cruisers for comparison.

The Kiev and Kuznetsov do, by my definition above, use different images The Kiev is what we call "short deck" (VTOL and Helo carry only) vs. the long deck Kuznetsov (any aircarft that are marked carrier capable).

Perhaps have a model for a helicopter cruiser? Similar to the Vittorio Venetoand Moskova ships, or would this type of ship simply be put under cruisers?
I think there could be 3 diffrent models, one for a CVE type ship, one for an Essex/WW2 straight deck carrier, and one for a super Carrier. I think that CVE models could also account for LHD's.

Backwards Carriers

I was looking at the wallpapers when I noticed that the aircraft carriers were backwards! I could tell because the superstructures were on the port side instead of the starboard. Will this be corrected? :(
