Dear people here on this forum.
I have a terrible thing to confess...even though I have played EUII for about 3 years now...I have never learnt to master the economy :(
In every game I play, I cheat to get tons of money because that's the only way I can get things working...the usual tips (get trade monopolies etc.) doesn't seem to work, and the tutorial didn't help me either...so can anyone plese help me?

Thing No.1 - don't build more armies than is your support limit, otherwise you pay enormous penalties.

Thing No.2 - keep your cash slider in settings of balance close to zero to limit the inflation. If you'll keep following No.1, your expenditures for armies shouldn't be that large and you'll be saving money from the annual taxes. I have two strategies I use - 1) keep the slider on zero (harder); 2) keep the slider in position to have total balance zero (easier)

Thing No.3 - stop using cheats, or you won't ever learn how to play it :D

I know you have been playing for like 3 years but try this

Play as france in the age of exploration scenario and promote all tax collectors

PLay for like 100 years(try putting as victory reaching 500 or 1000 vps) with only the annual income to back you up

The fantasia game is also good in this as you start with 2500 ducts but then you have to live of your nnual income;)
