I have noticed something very weird: I was fighting against myself, since playing Savoy my army led by the monarch Emmanuel Philibert (a nice 3-4-3-1) just won a battle agains a spanish army led by... Filiberto de Saboya (this time 3-3-3-1), who is just the same guy.

In reality, "Ironhead" did fight for Spain (or maybe for Austria, in any case for Charles) against France, and was actually the victor of St.Quentin Battle, which led to the Cateau-Cambresis treaty.

I'm wondering whether we should create a kind of event checking whom we want him to fight for.

Maybe I try to write the event.

BTW, a similar thing should happen for Andrea Doria, and also for Prince Eugene (or Prinz Eugen if you prefer)

In fact he never really fought for Savoy. When he won his great victory at Saint Quentin all of Savoy-Piedmont was occupied by French troops, and he was viceroy for the Netherlands.

I'd suggest that we just kill the Spanish version in 1559 or 1560, (when he recovered Savoy-Piedmont in real life), and start the Savoyard leader at that time.

Prince Eugene is no longer in the Savoy leader file. He never fought for Savoy.

And Doria isn't in the Spanish (or French) file. Maybe he should be.

Yes you're right about Emanule Philibert. The solution you proposed is interesting, but let me try out a possible alternative.

For the other two leaders, I'm suggesting they could (or maybe should) be "available" to their "national owners", before being "sent on foreign duty". The same could apply to Alessandro Farnese with respect to Modena.

BTW, I'm not yet willing to propose Nappy as a leader for an independent Corsica...

Well it's different because, other tthan Eugene, all the people you're talking about are basically monarchs, and not just any old leader.

Farnese was duke of Parma, not Modena.

I really don't think Eugene should be available to Savoy. There are a ton of leaders in the game who didn't serve their native country, and more than one or two are related to the royal family.

edit: By the way, is it "Ironhead" or "Steelhead"?

Of course the Farnese were Dukes of Parma. I have to check if Piacenza and Guastalla were already part of the Duchy during his rule.

Well about Eugene maybe he should be available to France, just like Colombo and the Portuguese. He was to be employed by France before having some problems with Louis.

In Italian is Testa di Ferro, so he should be Ironhead, even if his helmet was probably made out of steel.

In any case my primary concern was about having the same leader serving two countries at the same time.

Piacenza was. I don't think Guastalla was. (Still Mantuan I believe)

Giovanni dalle Bande Nere dates

Giovanni dalle Bande Nere should be changed, since he started his career fighting for the Pope in 1520, while he was 22. In 1521 was ander Florence against Urbino. In 1524 fought the French serving the Empire. During this campaign he got the surname Gran Diavolo (i.e. Great Devil) for the ferocity of the sieges and following sacks of Caravaggio and Abbiategrasso. At the end of 1524 he switched side, probably upon invitation of his relative Clemente VII, and died november 30 1526, a few days after having received a falconetto (light artillery) shield in his knee.
