How do you progress? I’ve built the egg megastructure and then years later it bumped me to 2/5 but I don’t understand how to keep going in the right direction. Would anyone be able to offer clarity?

Each crisis has a special resource you have to accumulate to progress.
If I remember correctly for the Behemoth they are called Feral Insights and you can most reliably get them by building bioships or space fauna.

It says you have to have a perk which I don’t have. I don’t have any perks. There is no tier anywhere besides the 2/5 on the special project but it doesn’t list any advantage.
Ah, could you screenshot that missing perk message? I had no trouble getting my egg to hatch so I don't recall what the requirement was besides more resources.
You have to have enough Feral Insight to get to crisis level 2 to be able to hatch the egg. But from your talk it seems you are already on that level.
