'Sup. Me again.

Got myself a newer PC. ~268 hours logged now, game's cash. Can't run it anymore though.

Problem started when I removed some mods I wasn't using. Now, I'm just trying to run pure vanilla, and I think it's telling me that the base game is experiencing conflicts with mods that aren't even installed on my machine anymore..?

I've already tried: launching straight from folder, checking for driver updates, letting it through windows defender, running as admin, disabling fullscreen optimizations, verifying files, booting cleanly, uninstalling/reinstalling, running in high-performance, expanding paging file. Basically, all of the normal troubleshooting stuff, as I understand it to be.

Idk. I've done something really stupid somewhere, but I just can't figure out what that is.

Here's my files:

I see you are on Windows 11 24H2, which is a severely broken Windows update that has caused problems across the whole gaming - indeed computer - industry.

Whether that is the, or a, cause of your problem here I'm not 100% sure. Certainly make sure you have the latest MS updates for it installed, but if that doesn't help all you can do is revert to 23H2 if you still can.

Let's clear up those mod errors at least.

Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-CK3
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/Crusader Kings 3 AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings III/ folders - In particular make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam CK3 or Documents CK3 locations, before installing again.
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add CK3.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.

THEN Right click on ck3.exe , properties, compatibility. Tick "disable fullScreen optimisations" untick every other box in that dialog, Apply and exit.
Then in the launcher Game Settings menu, select fullScreen display mode, Vsync off, cap refresh rate at 60.

If you still get the same problems, it is probably the 24H2 issue, I'm sorry!

I'd tried all this before, but just now went and did it again like you said to. Launched the game and got to the blue screen of death within 2 minutes of a complete freeze.

Conclusion: no dice; still gotta figure out how to download the previous build of Windows.

We don't see any BSoD in that dxdiag you posted, and you don't mention them in your OP - have you been getting those all along too?

Look at them in your Windows Event viewer - do they all have the same error/message, or different ones?

FOUND AN ISSUE
After doing a lot a thing,

One was the good one:
A registry entry as usual

Add a QWORD(x64) value in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\StorPort

Named HmbAllocationPolicy
Value 0 (default)

FOr the first time, no crash nor memory leak in 6 hours along !!!

Enjoy
