Constant crashing Steam Version :

Hi I just recently purchased this game trough steam, got some tryouts and finaly started understanding the game so that it was fun playing, and then I get theese bloody errors.. Game crashes/Hangs, gives a windows warning message and crashes to desktop randomly but not without cause it seems. I try to reload the autosave (7days) and after a couple of days the game crashes on the exact same spot it crashed earlier, reloading does not help in other words.
I first used the normal steam version but since it was crazed laggy/buggy and also crashed to desktop I decided to try the 7.3. This looked well and all for about 30 mins, then crash to desktop, doesnt matter wich nation I play, after a while I will get a -permanent- crash that prohibits further gameplay completely...

Why not help me here so that all the others with the same problems will get that knowledge as well? After all there is quite a bit of posts regarding this matter and no answers, Steam-Forums etc.

I disagree, there is virtually no one reporting crashes/hangs.

The issues with steam getting the update are discussed on this forum but that is not what your thread title says this discussion is about. Steam has nothing to do with whatever you are experiencing, there is no difference between the "steam" version and the "non-steam" version beyond some configuration files and file locations.

Oh well, I figured out how to remove the crashes, I deleted all the cache crap that the steam installation left over and patched it, havent had a crash yet while playing China, only thing I get is "lag" when zooming out, running 8core 4,2ghz with GTX670 SLI, is that normal ? It's kinda sluggish :\ If there is a way around this I'd love a tip or two
Great game btw, I wish Hoi3 was like this =P
