MY game is havinbg constant crashing. I'm using vista and I made sure I have all the latest drivers, and it's set to xp mode, I can't seem to put it on windows mod, keeps giving me an error when I try.

I can play for maybe an hour than it crashes.

2.2 should work on Vista without using Compatibility mode. Have you tried turning it off? I have Vista and do not use Compatibility mode.

Also Windowed mode, although available, is not officially supported. It is generally better to play on full-screen rather than windowed performance wise. If you want to change, this is from the manual (page 6):
Windowed Mode – This setting is not on the game menus, but you can change to Windowed Mode, if you prefer, by manually editing (using Windows Notepad) the settings.txt file. Simply change the line “windowed = no” to “windowed = yes” and save. Please note that Windowed Mode is not officially supported, and may cause performance loss, visual issues or crashes with some systems.

Please run DXDIAG, Save All Info, and post dxdiag.txt here (first delete everything after the Sound Devices section so it will fit). Also post your Rome/settings.txt and Rome/logs/system.log files. Note that if you use Vista and have installed the game in the suggested folder c:\Program Files\Paradox Interactive\Rome\, the active versions of these last two files will have been redirected by Vista to a non-system directory, like c:\users\[name]\appdata\local\virtualstore\Program Files\Paradox Interactive\Rome\. You may have to search your C: drive for them.
