I just managed to scrape through the last turns with a friend of mine having desync issues to resync multiple times a turn, at least once a turn.
I tried rolling it back with the options in settings but that didn’t work out either. Interesting note: When the turn started we’d be able to move a few seconds, then it would desync, then you’d resync and the AI empires will have gone, potentially screwing you because of the desync.


Seperate issue:
We were set on teams being on the same one, and had don’t view the others battles selected, and clicking on the notification to see post battle results for the other player resulted in a crash every time, the workaround was right clicking to dismiss instead of viewing.

you can avoid desync issues playing it diffrent way like PBEM

- You can play your turn even if the other players are not online, You will get a email notification once the other players have made their move
- Games are played on classic turns and can last days, weeks or longer , it depends on the number of players and how active they are

Also lots of desyncs here.

Playing with 2 friends in a LAN environment (please bring back local LAN mode). If one player is in a diplomatic/event screen and another initiates a combat, it just keeps desyncing. We suspect it has to do with the watch combat mode. Additionally, even with several attempts on rejoining and getting new desyncs, the combat player cant even play the combat anymore and we had to abandon the game.
 
one desync per battle. until the game is too desyncronized and no units can be moved. blocking the game completely.
that's my experience so far with a friend... 2 games ruined like this. and very early on. only a few turns in.
 
We've had LOTS of Desyncs... but it's only been an annoyance, it hasn't locked the game. One thing I feel this game has done well is make it easy to get back in at the exact point of desync / crash / network issues / etc.
 
Yep, we still have a lot of desynchs to deal with as well. I hope that Triumph will get these under control after some time. Until then, we're making good use of the resync system.
 
every manual battles aren't watchable as the desync makes the spectator see things that do not occur.
 
Multiplayer is a joke at the moment, completely unplayable. Constant desyncs ending in not even being able to do anything at all in the game. Was no playtesting done before release at all?

10 days after release...we still have nearby every round desyncs. I paid 50 Euro to be a alpha tester ?
Normally Paradox and also Triumph have good experience in the part of Multiplayer of their Games.
I cant understand this desaster. There was no warning about the unfinished Multiplayer.
I hope they fix it quick...the game is still great and i cant wait to play it without bugs and performance losses :)

The complete silence of the Devs regarding all these posts is mind blowing too. There hasn't been one official reply as "we are aware, we are working on it" etc.
the only reply was on release day that the servers were swamped. From that time on; No official Dev reply whatsoever!

I said it before, they appearantly didn't test the multiplayer, like, at all. They have enough multiplayer expertise now that they are under the wings of Paradox, who's games are not riddled this bad with desyncs and other multiplayer problems, that it really is mind-boggling why they cannot integrate working multiplayer.

Shame as I loved playing multiplayer in 3 with a friend, there it worked flawlessly.

it also worked well in planetfall. desync were still hapening but were rare and random.
here it is one desync EVERY manual combat. (+ a few random desync here and there).
and the worst part it makes the conbat unwatcheable as the spectators and the players don't see the same thing...

something must have gone wrong.

We are also getting a desync in every single game on almost every single turn and we've done all of the work throughs listed by the devs (and others). Happens even if we don't manual combat... Are the devs aware of the issue?

Yeah, they are aware. It is one of the reasons crossplay hasn't been enabled yet.

Hopefully they will fix it with the next big patch.

I suspect the desync in manual combat might have something to do with the observer also being able to select which speed the battle should be played in. So if the one player has the lowest speed and the observer selects fasted speed, the game might desync. Just a theory though :)

6 Weeks after release, i tested 3 times in the last weeks the "Multiplayer beta". Every time desync in the battles and on the strategic map. Plus few crashes on my friends computer. I think i will refund my money at the end of june. 2 months of waiting is then enough. I am very disappointed.

I believe in the free Wyvern update, they will have fixed most of the regular desyncs what I understand. I am waiting until it launches, the 20th, before starting another multiplayer session.
