I have been having some trouble with assassinations in my current Stark game. Five of my last seven rulers have been assassinated at a relatively young age (six if you count the one who died in a trial by combat against his brother, but that one was my fault), meaning that I've basically been in regency for the last forty years or more. It's getting quite infuriating.

What is more, it's always the same event - the one where you wake up to find someone holding you down and suffocating you. I don't know if this is part of the mod or a vanilla event - what I know is that I desperately want to play as an adult character for more than a couple of years at a time. Does anyone know what is causing this, or if there is anything I can do about it?

I have done everything that I could think of - get a good spymaster who likes me, set them to scheme in hope of discovering plots, hired a household guard (not sure if that helps but it seems like it ought to), tried to keep most of my vassals happy. I can't go into hiding because I generally don't know that there's a murder plot until it's too late.

Intrigue focus should help you out there as well, also are you in blood feud with anyone? Because I got into a blood feud once and had to go in hiding for pretty much 3 generations
