Hi there

I am using a Xeox Gamepad by Speedlink. Had nearly no problems with this gamepads on Magicka 1, but Magicka 2 doesn't recognise them. That's very frustrating, because I mainly bought this game for local Koop/Versus and though I need the gamepads. The game is said to have "full controller support" on Steam. Could you please tell me what is wrong or fix it, if it is a problem on your side?

On the other hand I could help you with some really messed up german translations in the game. I hope those translations were fan-made and you didn't pay anyone for it, because some of them are really bad.

Cheers,

The game only seems to be able to recognize Xbox 360 controllers, but I could be wrong. In any case, my Logitech and Saitek controllers don't work in Magicka 2, which is a bit annoying.

I really hope they fix it in the future.

Selling a game proclaiming it has "full controller support" that only has support for original XBOX 360 controllers is kind of a fraud...
Especially sad because they got it working on Magicka 1, so they know how it can be done.
The controller I am using is even having the very same layout like a XBOX 360 controller.

The game had a sneak peek and has been released for over a month now. I really hope this point is on top of their Todo-list right now...

You can try this https://inputmapper.com/downloads , I checked the controller you have and it appears that you can change between Directinput and Xinput. I might have found the wrong one but if it is the right one then you could try changing that. Let me know if it works.

Hi there

My controller is this one: http://www.speedlink.com/?p=3&cat=4132&pid=22714&paus=1&anc=sw447&act_lang=en

I tried the inputmapper but it only sasy "No compatible Controller detected". (Although if I go to "Tools" -> "Windows Controllers" it is shown and on the "Test Page" under "Properties" it reacts to my input.)

I also tried the tool x360ce which is also responding to every input of my controller but doesn't work in the game.

I would still be thankfull for a working solution. (And I still offer help on the german translations.)

Cheers,

Have you guys heard of x360ce?
Worked in every game so far, I used a xbox controller yes the 1st xbox, it shouln't even be connected to a pc, had to cut and rewire cable

anyway, can we have a sticky devs? something like, Controller support -> use x360ce

So it might be a nice tool for some, but it doesn't work for me. Unless I did something very wrong on the configuration of the tool...

yes and yes, you probably did, it worked fine with mine

a short video (still uploading):

Thank you for making a video. As I see it in this video, you are using version 2.0.2.160 of x360ce. This is a quite old version. The only similar version I found was 2.0.2.163 which I tried according to your video. But the tool didn't recognize my controller.

The version I have tried before was 3.0.7.57 (64Bit-Version) whixh is the newest version I found. This version recognized my controller without any problem but still didn't work in the game. I tried to follow different video-tutorials, but most of them were for version 2.0.x. Still no luck.
