Hello,

I have another question that I hope, perhaps, someone could help me with. I wish to take control of the military of an AI controlled ally. Unfortunately, the country in question is denying me control. :( I have tried to use the acceptall console command to override this, but apparently, it doesn't work with the military control command. I was wondering, therefore, if there is a way to edit the saved game to give me control of the country in question. I assume that, because every game is different, which countries the player-nation militarily controls must be noted somewhere in the saved game file, but, since I don't know the correct syntax to search for, I haven't been able to find the pertinent text to change. Could someone please point me in the correct direction for this? Thanks. :)

1) Find the country in the save game (use "TAG = XXX" until you find "country =" above that.
2) search breakthrough. Under that should be the leaders.
3) under breakthrough, insert control = "YYY"

XXX is the country you have to take military control.
YYY is your country.

Hi again,

Thanks for your help, Pepsi_Max and Engage8. The info you provided, Pepsi_Max, is exactly what I need. :D Very much appreciated!

Btw, for anyone editing their saved game, if you want to look for a specific country's information, and you're using a text editor that can find line breaks, the two line code for any country is

XXXland.=.{.^p....tag.=.XXX

where XXXland is the name of the country, XXX is the HoI country code, and ^p (or whatever text operator your editor uses) is the text code for a carriage return. This works for all saved Paradox games that I've played. Remember that there are four (4) spaces between the carriage return symbol and the word "tag" and that the pale blue periods in the example above illustrate spaces, not actual periods.

Thanks again for all your help. I appreciate everyone on these forums who takes time to help other forum members, especially myself, with our questions.

Oh, and Happy New Year to all Gregorians out there, too! :D
