Converter won't export game

Hey folks. I have the EUIV converter. I finished a CKII game. I get the score screen and there's an Export Game button. It's blue and active, but when you click on it nothing happens. It reacts like it's clicked but nothing is exported and nothing at all happens. Any ideas?

How long did you wait? It does take a few minutes to do a conversion.

You could also try loading up the last save and hit the Convert button in the save game menu.

Nothing happens at all. Does any window come up notifying you that it's running? Because I can click multiple times and nothing appears to happen. I've waited 20 minutes and nothing appears and or is produced.

It's an Iron Man game so there is no last save.

I haven't played an Ironman to the very end. Are you saying when it ends, the last save is deleted?

In any case, when you hit that "Export game" button you should get a dialog saying

"Export CK2 game to EU4

This game will be exported with the name XXXXX
This will take a couple of minutes"

Are you saying you don't even get that message? I have no real idea what that could be. Can you try it by starting a fresh game (whether Ironman or not), hitting the ESC menu and Export? Or start a game and Resign it, and hit Export Game from the Game Over menu?

I haven't played an Ironman to the very end. Are you saying when it ends, the last save is deleted?

It only keeps the most recent save, so there are no alternate saves for me to try exporting per your prior suggestions.

I do not get that message. I click export and nothing happens. However it seems to just be this save game. When I try it with a new game it seems to work, so that's good.

Ideally there would be a solution to get it working with this particular save game since I'm pretty invested in it.

The save game itself will exist on your PC somewhere; was it a local or cloud save you were using? If cloud the location is documented in the sticky "file locations" thread above.

I can only guess that either the save is bad in some way, or the Converter DLC has a bug in dealing with something unusual in that particular save.

I wasn't using the cloud, I was saving locally.

If it is in possibly a converter bug should I send the save game for analysis?

I was able to convert that game. I did have to wait until the scrolling list of rulers finished, but then clicking on the Export button worked and I got the messages I posted up there in #4. The files ended up in the "eu4_export" folder under Documents CK2, as they should.

That worked. It would never have occurred to me that I needed to wait for the scrolling rulers to finish. Thank you Andrew!
