Converting to Extreme Forms of Government

Is there anyway to convert to Communism or Fascism earlier in the game?

Does anyone have a step by step on how to get there?

I undestand that Proletarian Dictatorship is the "standard" for communism and Presidential Dictatorship is more for Fascism...

Let's take for example Russia (who I am now playing)... it is around 1880 and I have a democracy. What would I need to do in order to turn into the USSR? (I am playing VIP)

In the Parties screen, which parties are available? If you don't have the Marxists or Bolsheviks yet, then I don't think you can become the USSR.

You could go into the Party Editor and change the dates so those parties appear earlier.

Then you would remove voting rights, or manipulate the electorate or do whatever you have to do to make them elect one of those parties. It's ok if they elect a far-right party instead. Getting them to elect an anarcho-liberal or reactionary party, when you're a democracy, usually turns your country into a presidential dictatorship within a month. From there it's much easier than under democracy to impose the Marxists, or Bolsheviks, or whichever one you want.

I'm sure you know all this manipulation and possible manual switching of parties is going to cause a lot of revolts.
