Is it possible to convert directly from Catholic to Reformed?

I am playing England (GC) for the first time. Kept my alliance with Spain and have kicked the French (kept Calais) and have taken Picardy and Caux. I'm have fun taking Paris - and think I want to put off conversion 'till Reformed. Even though my relations with Spain are at +135 - I doubt they'll let me back into the alliance once I convert.

Thanks for the input. The reason I asked about direct Catholic to Reformed, it seems to me that Scotland makes this change (right to reformed.)

I tend to favor Protestant over Reformed. I agree the tax revenues are much better. I guess I just got it in my head England needed to go Reformed. :) I have only convereted with Minors in the past. Based on a random event drop of 1 in stabilty looks like when I do change England it's going to be a looonng haul to get back to +3:D

It is only 1533 in this GC so I think I'll wait for one more Ango/Spanish-French war to convert (now that Scotland is in the French alliance.) I'd like to add Normandy to English holdings in France :D

Kind of funny - I usually play a fairly peaceful diplo/econ game with majors. The allliance with Spainish (and some great leaders) has kind of corrupted me...I'm getting land grabby:D It's fun to burn their t/ps in the new World as well.

When getting stability up provinces of another religion then ur state religion cost twice as much, so Protestantism, even despite its stability penalty, should still go quicker than reformed to get back to +3.

don't think you can got directly from Catholic to Reformed. You can however, do the change in a rapid manner. Convert from Catholic to Protestant, then immediately convert from Protestant to Reformed. Saves the double stability hit, if your already at -3 due to 1st conversion, the 2nd won't have any effect. I do think you will get another round of revolts - can't remember exactly though. (did this as Venice once, needed the extra trade impact and extra moral bonus)
