I'm reinstalling Doomsday, so I start with my impressions so far:

Small file to download = Good!
Nice and informative installer = Sweeet!
When installing just CORE-files and took a look, it looks very nice!

What's your first impressions of 03?

It's finally here!

:)

The graphics packs will be somewhat larger, mind you.

I like CORE .03

Let see if anyone complains...

But there is already lots of GFX in the package? The more the better (files that is, not size :p)!
The CORE in color graphics pack is approximately 170MB unzipped, dummy files NOT included. That's a little under 1500 images.

The one which will be released this evening? Me like. :p
Correct. I haven't been sitting idle the last nine months, you know.

No, but one should think, that having 81 mb file in the original setup (stated in installer) is perhaps more than just a few pics. :p

Can I start a game without having to restart it when it will be released?

I think so, as the more critical ones are included in the basic installer. But that way you might miss out on those great historical early images like German soldiers with original Reichswehr helmets and such...

Plus the CORE in Color graphics pack will be compliant with GIP. Mind you, I've only gotten round of doing the models of GER, SOV and the USA. We probably overdid it somewhat on the number of models per country.

57 downloads within the first hour. Hows that for a bit of propaganda minister ;)
Nice... Now all we have to do is keep this thread going and even more people will be drawn to it... :D

One cannot over do something like that. :D

Yes, both Hagar, dec, you ghost and baylox (the one I can think of the moment) have done a good job with promiting the mod: first having a thread in four monts, "it coming soon" plus being secret but then revealing techs and the manual... Good job!

The only complaint I have, when choosing to produce a cavallary, I see a freakin helicopter instead of a nice horse in production screen. hehe

EDIT: I guess that 200 people will have downloaded it before 24:00 (my time, it's 19:00 now) :D

EDIT 2: I hope you release the GFX-pack sooooon so I can start a GC "for real" with reichswehr helmets. :p

Is a clean install recomended or can I install it over core 0.25?

Easily solved with installing one of the Graphics packs... We've decided against including all the nation-specific imagery for the models, given the sheer size of it all. ;)

I think you can install it over 0.25, though it might be best to uninstall 0.25 first. The Vanilla game itself shouldn't matter too much anyway, as we try to use the moddir whenever we can. The Graphics installers will install dummy imagery into the Vanilla directory setup, but only if no corresponding files exist.

omg omg omg...I've been checking these forums almost daily for .30 since June lol. Yay!!! Now I just have to wait patiently for the graphics pack so I get the full effect. So we're looking at what, 4 hours or so until it's available?

Ghost is uploading them now, so definately sooner than that I'd say.

One thing I really enjoy about CORE .3 is the naval builds. I am primarily a land creature, the whole navy thing I get, but it doesn't intrigue me. I enjoy that I can just have all my ships being built for me. I, of course, will build more as say USA.

On that note- I like having to actually manage the economy with USA for a bit. After 39 or so-- you are just awash in money etc.

Anyone using Armageddon with CORE .3?
