Core Dump then problems quitting

Saturday I played for about 2 hours in the AM, turned off the game then restarted in the early afternoon and left the game on pause while I did some lawn work. I have a new Dell with an intel D processer and 2 Gigs of ram, the computer is in a loft with no air conditioning, and the temp was in the 90's. When I came back from the yard work I saw the wonderful "Core Dump" message. Since then, about 75% of the time when I quit a game, the computer freezes and I have to hit Ctrl/Alt/Delete to manually turn off the game. Windows usually asks to send an incident report. I have De-fraged and run Virus scan with no problems. Nothing else seems to be a problem either (yet). Any ideas? :confused:

The only thing that may cut down the problem is renaming the AVI sub folder to AVI_back
