Development is going well and the process will go into betatesting soon.

If you need additional beta testers, i have a lott spare time the next month.

Thank you for offering but it is not an open beta test as such.

In order to become a betatester you have to apply by joining our CORE reporter group and making reports on current versions as well a showing that you can use our mantis system(not that hard really). All betatesters are reporters who have shown that they are capable and willing to put in an effort to help us identifly bugs and issues as reporters.

All Reporters are reviewed between each version and new beta's selected. Betatesters are also reviewed from time to time and idle ones removed so that those who have access to beta versions are the people who show real interest in helping the development of the mod. Some of these eventually become develpers themselves.

We can always use more reporters/betatesters so hopefully you and others will consider signing up.

The betatesting of CORE for DD has started now. Hopefully we have a release version ready in a few weeks.

I probably know the answer to this already, but ... will CORE for DD be able to handle a V:R conversion? (*fantasy*)

Definitely not. The tech tree differences would make the converted save CTD. It may be possible in the future to agjust some of the Revolutions conversion files to convert Revolutions to CORE. Even still, you will need to edit the save to get the event files loaded, as only random events are loaded through the converted save.

Does anyone know whether the CORE will be compatibile to foreign versions of the game?

I am asking cos, while the 1.2 patch is fully working on my Italian version of the game, I've tried Stony Road, and all text is either unreadable or nonsense.
Hopefully I won't have to buy a second version of the game just to play CORE (the reason I kept on playing HOI 1 & 2 in the first place).
Please let me know if someone has an idea.

Luke,

to the best of my knowledge, the game is the same in most languages, so if you go to the Hoi2DD main folder, look at settings, open it and switch languages from 2 (italian) to 0 (english) before installing a mod, everything should work fine; the game will obviously be english, but I believe it is even better, as it avoids some funny choiches of italian words.
I had the same problem with HoI and it worked, so I suppose it will work with HoI2 and HoI2DD as well ( I bought the "english" versions of the latter games and I never tried to change the settings to 2, so I have no way to be100% sure)

ATM, CORE works best with the English version. It should still work with all other languages, but may have issues as the translations aren't in as yet. Translations are being worked on, so at some point, all CORE materials should be available for most supported languages.

Mario,

thanks a lot.
Everything works fine now, and yes it does avoid some funny translations. I usually stick to english versions myself, but this time I spotted the game by chance, and couldn't resist to grab a copy even though it was in Italian.

Again, thanks for the advice.
