I just noticed a problem in my GC game: all colony/city provinces owned by Christian countries are Catholic; although I can convert from Reformed to Protestant, there is no tolerance slider for Protestant; and the game is tracking the progress to the Reformation event. Has anyone had this happen before? What can I do to fix it (beyond editing the province religion of a ~1450 item list  )?

Hm.. never seen that happen before. Although, most of the games I've played have been as pagans (so I didn't pay attention) or mostly finished by the time the Reformation and such come around. :D

I have not seen that particular problem either.

Of course, if I had I probably would not even attempt to fix it. I'm not that patient. I would simply restart a new game, but that's just me. :)

Plus, I always play the IGC. I started one game as vanilla GC when I first got the game, but I've been IGC ever since, so I'm assuming we would be talking apples and oranges.

I'll go back to lurking now that I've been no help at all.

I've already decided to wait for the Calvin event, and then I'll go through the provinces changing all the right ones to Reformed.

I've found where the problem lies: at the top of the save file, under global data, there's a line called "progress" with a bunch of numbers after it. I must have messed up something on it while checking through the file once upon a time  . If only I'd figured this out a century ago, France might have already fallen into the fold... :eek:o
