Could not activate key: An unknown error occured when communicating with Steam Issue.

I've subbed to the newspaper and all the instructions in order to get the steam key for the CK2 DLC Old Gods but now it's saying, "Could not activate key: An unknown error occured when communicating with Steam Issue" Do I have to restart steam? Please help.

No, just redeem the key directly into Steam instead of on our website. That way you'll get a clearer error if there is still a problem.


Just paste your Steam Activation code (which we sent to your email, and is in your Paradox Games menu) into the +Add a Game area of the Steam client application, and the game will be available in your Steam Library in that Client to download and install.
You can also do this directly on the Steam website
