So I'm sitting waiting for the Dutch uprising, so I can try out my new tactic (I'm only on my 3rd GC, and I only found this forum three days ago, so I still don't know what works and what doesn't.) I'm gonna wax all the rebel scum, then once they declare independence they'll have no standing army and I can beat up on them, and get half my provinces back.

They won't declare independence. They've just been sitting there holding five rebel provinces for the last 30 years. If I beseige and retake a province, it rebels again in about a week and a half ... but they won't go independent, so I can't beat up on them. But it is one less colonial power to worry about ... is this a good strategy? Or just a bug?

Every time all needed provinces are in rebel hands there's a chance they will form their country. IF they don't u have to recapture one and let them take it again to make xure that check is made again. If they don't again, repeat the process. U could also just leave them in rebel hands of xure.

I figure it's best to leave them in rebel hands. I don't get anything from them, but at least the Dutch swine can't ally with any of my enemies this way :)
