I wonder if somebody can help.
I have installed EU 1.09 on windows 2000 sp2.

Game runs ok EXCEPT when I try to save a game, it crashes
and goes back to the desktop. The game is saved, but trying
to load it doesn't work as it is somehow corrupted and just won't
give you the option to start the saved game.

I have removed EU and reinstalled it to no avail.

Any idea of what could be causing this and how to fix it?

Cheers,

Arturo Martinez

No.
Not a fucking clue.
But I couldn't bear the thought of you sitting up all night thinking no-one cared.

Some other people get this problem only in certain scenarios, or as certain players. You might try experimenting...

The forum moderator said that the next patch would contain a rewrite of the whole save/load system. Has anyone heard an ETA for 1.10?

Try defragging your disk.

I defragged my hard disk to no avail.
The problem seems to happen when I play USA in the American
Independence War.

Re-writing the whole load/save system sounds like a very good idea,
is there a beta of patch 1.10 out somewhere so I can volunteer to playtest it?

Also thanks to Owl for his shows of concern and solidarity.

By the way guys how do you get the cool shields to appear in your messages?

I know this one!
Go to "user cp" button above and change avatar.

Some people can get around the bug by saving their game over an existing one. It usually works, but for some it doesn't.
