I have not been able to complete a single game in over six months. My current game crashes precisly on November 24 at 01:00. , 1943. It seems not to matter whether I use patches or not. It always crashes. Always, always.


I've got 40 g,

192 Ram

533 clockspeed

with an Intel Celeron motherboard.

All this is meaningless to me, they just tell me it's what our computer has. I'm not too technicaly literate, so keep it moronically basic please!

i was just about winning too. . .
 
My game always crashes to desktop (CTD) whenever I defeat the last enemy! If as you say, you are winning, is it possible that the last enemy has been annexed or puppeted?

I have reported this bug with 1.03b and it is a known bug, that was beleived to have been fixed.
 
Crashes. . .

My game never gets far enough along to puppet or annex enemy states. During the '41 scenerio, it neer lasts more than two years. This has been ongoing ever since I first got the game, with every patch. I'm losing patience, and would return it if I had a reciept.

I don't want to reinstall because I've done that dozens of times and it's never worked, I want to play a game to completion!
 
Sounds like the USA election bug to me.
Let me know if it still happens with a game started under 1.04
 
I suspect my computer might not be able to handle it, as it happens with every game with or without patches. But we'll see what happens. . .

Hey SMorg, every thought helps!! I only wish I could puppet a few enemies for once!
 
Don't give up!

Try renaming your AVI folder to AVI_Back, that will help with random crashes.

As for the November crashes, I suspect it is the USA election bug, a fix for which is listed in the Bug forum sticky thread "Do it yourself bug fixes" Look for posts by me and you should find it.

Yes, it crashes whichever country I play. I mostly stick to Russia, but have unfinished games as both U.S. and UK as well.
I shall try the Sticky fixes, and the patches, but I suspect the trouble might lie with my machine.

We'll see how it goes!!

Crashes. . .

There are two files named "AVI" on my computer. "avi" and "avi_back". Apparently I've tried that one before. Should I rename them something else? Might that have something to do with it?
 
Sounds like the new install created a new one for you. Yes there should be NO folder named AVI only AVI_old or AVI_back, whatever as long as it is not AVI.
 
Sounds like it may be your Video Card, What brand is it. And what driver are you useing? Have you updated it lately?
