This game is driving me crazy. My games have crashed since I bought this game numerous times, I downloaded 1.02 version but still I have the same problems. Any ideas:confused:

Well, if you're running Win98, kill every process except systray and explorer before starting the game. That should eliminate any software conflicts that might be causing the problem.

If that fixes the crashing problem, you can try to find the offending program by process of elimination.

Check your disk space and make sure that you have enough for that 100mb+ swap file.

Good advice on closing everying else off except explorer and systray. If you have an anti-virus program or a firewall, shut them down since they have a tendency to slow the game down to a slow crawl (and they substantially increase the revolt risk in Windows :) )

Aside from that...save early and often.

Thanks for the advice I'll try them. But even though I try to save as much as possible I hate it when it crashes during a war because in the heat of a battle I always get caught up and don't save for a long time and I get pissed of when I have just taken the last province of that nation

I understand, there is nothing worse than being wrapped up in a battle only to find yourself staring at the desktop a moment later. I don't know how much memory your computer has, but I think that also makes a pretty big difference. I had 64mb and the game ran very slow and crashed quite frequently. I upgraded to 192mb and I have only had it crash once.

It's 128mb and 20 GB of hardisk so i don't think there is a problem with my computer, i'll try other methods, sounds off etc. or wait for 1.03(I'm also hoping lotsa other stuff from 1.03 hope it lives up to my expectations:D)

Hmmmm... Well the hardware specs on your computer shouldn't be causing you any trouble.

It seems like Paradox makes pretty good stability improvements from patch to patch. We'll keep our fingers crossed for 1.03. :)

with path 1.02 I didn't experienced much crashes. A few here and there, but nothing like you describe.

Care to post you complete config as per the sticky thread?
